The Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme lulls you through its corridors by its signature scent of forest, mint, and patchouli. The hotel has Japanese-inspired clean lines and mahogany wood fixtures, which contrast against the romantic flourishes of grey stone and Parisian blue outside. The zen, cool interior is a revitalizing nucleus to recharge, relax, and soothe you, while catering to your every desire in Paris.
We arrived in the afternoon greeted by a champagne toast from the friendly staff. Once our room was ready, we were led in by the hotel manager, who showed us our romantic retreat for the next couple of days. The suite’s beds are king-sized and plush, and the bathrooms have mirrored showers and a dressing room for lounging, along with a large and decadent bathtub. Most importantly, there is a white robe, pressed and beckoning you with its softness.
Having traveled that afternoon, I welcomed the sight of the coffee corner with its cheerful, yellow Bernardaud espresso cups, and happily reclined into a cozy lounge chair to nibble on the Kouign Amann I had acquired that morning at Pierre Herme. A little extra dollop of Fauchon raspberry jam on my pastry just felt right in this decadent setting.
The bar in the Park Hyatt downstairs also has delicious cocktails where you can have an intimate nightcap after a night on the town. The “Peruvian Shrub” with Pisco, fresh apple juice, cherry liquor, mint and a garden of fruit on top is a memorable cocktail from Le Bar — sweet, minty, and exotic.
After seeing the glittery lights of the Eiffel Tower, just a short car ride away, you can slink into a comfy sofa by the fireplace of Le Bar, and savor the taste and scent of this sleek and seductive oasis in Paris.
