A Poem for January 28th

In times of stress, words bring comfort. May today’s poem soothe and inspire your soul.

Aquamarine

I soak into the waters of the deep aquamarine sea
The glorious marble drops of moisture roll off my
sun damp skin
The heat of the ground saturating the wet mound of
a pillow under my heart that beats with the sound
of a million moons that led us here
into that soft hazy beam that echoed up through a
telescope aiming at one distant star calling us home to
our city of light
that birthed us
and made us feel that we are meant to be in this place
at this very renaissance of love and celebration
knocking down the door of past disappointments
barreling through the underground tunnels toward one
steadfast and unyielding truth
that we are here to be free souls of the universe
