Today’s daily poem for inspiration is a poem I’ve written about love, imagined through the eyes of the moon and the sun:

Yin Yang Universe
Now that I’ve met you
I want to be with you every day
The moon said to the sun
It’s not enough to see you each evening
For one passing moment
Or at dawn when night’s dark blue curtains move aside for one magic glimpse
I see the golden glitter of your sumptuous fabric rustling in the light
as I yawn and yearn for you
My silver blue skin hungry for your tender molten touch
a reviving exhale on a cold bleak night.
When your hopeful blaze calls me
I curve from crescent to round
ready to encircle your warmth
and envelop you in my calm
Now that I’ve met you
I want to be with you every day
The moon said to the sun
I’ll send starlight and bright comets across the sky
to show you the dazzle and joy you bring to my heart
I’ll string moments like stars spanning light-years of time
so that we can forever be together your emblazoned hand in mine.
