I’ve written today’s inspirational poem about finding hope in light:

The Exuberant Sun
Light always accentuates
and does not detract
like when you walk through
a gold orb
does it shine and surround
you with heat, hope, and love
How I long for the fuzzy embrace
of your vibrant halo
on this long sojourn in the
night forest
the crackle of leaves under
my feet feel unknown and foreign
hiding dark memories
I’d like to forget
When will the sun appear
through this chaotic echo
of owls and howls
a dusty vortex blanketed
by the inky black sky
And when my legs feel
too tired to continue
my languid hand moves aside
the leafy drape of a branch
before my sleepy eyes
and I’m greeted by the
exuberant stretch of the sun’s arms
Its reviving heat on my skin
that says,
walk towards me or through me
look up and around,
step into my sphere, for your spirit of light
I’m always here
